Moving On

So like, yesterday I saw two guys standing next to Barr Smith library-peeing. Peeing. Men not only don’t understand females. They don’t understand the term ‘toilet’ either. Okay, now it just sounds like I’m comparing females with toilets. Okok I’m just gonna shut up -_-;

Anywaaayyy a very interesting conversation with a friend during work brought me to this:

When people say ‘I’ve moved on’, exactly what does it mean? When you say you’ve moved on, how much of us and which part of us is still looking back? Because it’s not easy to forget. And memories don’t grow old.

Maybe people make the decision to move on because they need to. Because there’s no choice. Because if you did have a choice, would you still choose to move on? Maybe its an attempt to assure themselves that it’s the right thing to do, that they’re better off. And maybe sometimes we do need that assurance in order to take one step forward.

I reckon, when people make the decision to move forward, they should do it only because they believe they want to. People should decide on taking one step forward because they believe it’s what makes them stronger, better. And when you’ve decided on that, you should never let anything, or anybody come in between that. No matter what. If you can’t then you’re obviously not ready to move on. And if you’re obviously not ready to move on, you should stay in the past. Stay there and try to fix it. Repair it. And only when you’ve given it your all, take the memories with you, take one step forward and never ever look back. Because if you do, you not only destroy yourself but the people around you.
At the end of the day, the lifesaver drowns.
But that’s just me.

Maybe the definition of moving on is never black and white. And it’s never easy to see or choose. Because it’s never clear until it becomes clear. With time. And maybe it’s easier to give people the benefit of the doubt. But when people still choose not to choose, it just gets exhausting.
